The Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center (ARCC) at Edvantia is one of 16 regional comprehensive and 5 content centers that make up the Comprehensive Center Network funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

The purpose of the comprehensive centers is to provide state education agencies with intensive technical assistance to address the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements and meet student achievement goals.

View ARCC’s new podcast series, Parent Involvement: Keys to Success. The podcasts are intended to provide our region’s state education agency staff with resources and information schools can use to involve parents in their children's learning. Content for the podcasts is provided by ARCC’s partner organization, the National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL). New podcasts will be posted each week covering a variety of ideas, research, and strategies to promote parent involvement in schools.

Webinar Archive: School Improvement Funds


Presentation materials are now available from the August 13 webinar, Effecting Change with School Improvement Funds. The webinar featured Carlas McCauley, U.S. Department of Education, and Jim Kohlmoos, president of Knowledge Alliance, who discussed ways School Improvement Funds could be used to leverage school improvement and enhance statewide systems of support. The webinar was sponsored by the ARCC and the Mid-Atlantic Comprehensive Center (MACC).
